Maurya Zepeda, B.A.
Early Intervention Specialist
Maurya graduated from California State University, Northridge with a B.A. in Child Development. During her studies, she took Child Life Courses at the University of La Verne which focused on work with children in hospital settings. Maurya also completed a 600 hour Child Life internship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in the surgery department and the rehabilitation department. she has worked with children for 24 years across a broad age range. She worked at an after-school program geared for elementary-aged students while in college, and later as a preschool teacher at Warner Brothers Studios Children’s Center in Burbank, CA for many years. In 2005, Maurya heard about a “little thing” called early intervention and thought it was right up her alley. She applied to an early intervention program called Sojourn Services and have been doing early intervention work ever since. Maurya has been a team member of GSTAR since 2010 and enjoy working, consulting and learning from the many talented therapists on the team. She is interested in all aspects of child development and offering strategies to their families to help them become the best versions of themselves. She enjoys working with infants and toddlers, because every day is a mystery and an adventure. The things they do and say are very entertaining. Maurya is grateful to have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful children and their families. During her personal time, she enjoys crocheting, reading and hiking.
