Emily received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from UC Davis, and completed two separate child life internships at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA and at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She has been a certified child life specialist since 1995 and has presented at the Child Life National Conference in Long Beach, CA in 1999. She has worked the last 20 years across a variety of work settings, including pediatric hospital settings covering child and adolescent psychiatric unit, burn unit, pediatric intensive care unit, rehabilitation unit, and pediatric acute care units; as well as working in the education setting as a preschool and substitute teacher. Prior to moving to the Central Coast she was working for the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, as a care coordinator working closely with physicians, families, local and state agencies to provide quality care, resources and support for children and families. Emily always strives to provide a compassionate and comprehensive approach to meet the emotional, social and developmental needs of children and their families.
