Emily received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from UC Davis and completed two child life internships; one at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA and the other at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.  She has been a certified child life specialist since 1995 and presented at the Child Life National Conference in Long Beach, CA in 1999.  Over the last 20 years, she has practiced in a variety of work settings, including pediatric hospitals covering child and adolescent psychiatric units, burn units, pediatric intensive care units, rehabilitation units, and pediatric acute care units.  She has also worked in an educational setting as a preschool teacher and substitute teacher. Prior to moving to the central coast of California, she worked for the American Academy of Pediatrics (Arizona Chapter), as a care coordinator working closely with physicians, families, and local and state agencies to provide quality care, resources and support for children and families. Emily always strives to provide a compassionate and comprehensive approach to meet the emotional, social, and developmental needs of children and their families.
